House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said Thursday morning that the government should require self-insured religious institutions, such as the Catholic church in Washington, D.C., to directly pay for contraception and abortifacients.
At a press conference, Leader Pelosi was asked by THE WEEKLY STANDARD: "The Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., is a self-insured institution. Should the Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., be required to pay for these morning-after pills and birth control if they find that morally objectionable?"
Pelosi talked about the importance of women's health, and then said, "Yes, I think that all institutions who cover, who give, health insurance should cover the full range of health insurance issues for women."
President Obama said last week that he would accommodate religious institutions by requiring their insurers to pay for free contraceptive and abortive drugs rather than the religious institutions themselves. Many scholars and other public figures have said Obama's "accommodation" is a distinction without a difference--an accounting gimmick that will still leave religious institutions footing the bill for services they find morally objectionable.
Obama's "accommodation" doesn't even pretend to provide an out for self-insured religious institutions. "In order to provide insurance consistent with our religious beliefs, our health benefit plan is a self-insured plan that extends coverage to 3,600 employees," Cardinal Donald Wuerl wrote in a letter to Catholics in the Archdiocese of Washington last weekend. "[L]ike Aetna or Blue Cross, the archdiocese and other self-insured religious organizations would be required to both provide and pay for drugs and procedures we consider morally wrong in our employee health plans." (The HHS mandate's exemption for houses of worship does not apply to the Archdiocese of Washington because it insures many non-Catholic employees.)
Although Leader Pelosi clearly supports using the government to force the Catholic church in Washington, D.C.--and other large self-insured churches, hospitals, and universities--to directly pay for services it finds morally objectionable, Senator Richard Durbin, the second ranking Democrat in the Senate, has expressed concern about this policy.
Heretic: A person who holds controversial opinions, especially one who publicly dissents from the officially accepted dogma of the Roman Catholic Church. St. Thomas defines heresy: "a species of infidelity in men (women) who, having professed the faith of Christ, corrupt its dogmas".
A heretic, can not receive the sacrements.
First They Came for the Catholics...
The Catholic Knight posted this today, ...The Obama administration's HHS mandate, and supposed 'accommodation,' are a carefully played hand, designed to split the Catholic Church against herself, pitting Cafeteria Catholics against Faithful Catholics, diminishing the strength of the Church in public life and preparing her for the next phase of her persecution. Not to worry, other Christians are affected by this as well, but the liberal modernists running the show know full well that once you strike the shepherd the sheep will scatter. The goal is to take down the largest Christian denomination in the United States first -- the U.S. Catholic Church -- and then going after the smaller denominations is 'easy pickings,' kind of like 'shooting fish in a barrel... more...
Take a minute to explore this print. Those who are cheering for this mandate to happen are as many as those who are cheering for these death of the Christians. How do we know they are Christians? They are prayng...

Making the religious beliefs of the only Moromon presidential candidate a laughing stock, The AP reports that the paerents of Simon Wiesenthal were Baptisted into Mormonism after death.
..SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Mormon church leaders apologized to the family of Holocaust survivor and Jewish rights advocate Simon Wiesenthal after his parents were posthumously baptized, a controversial ritual that Mormons believe allows deceased people a way to the afterlife but offends members of many other religions.
Wiesenthal died in 2005 after surviving the Nazi death camps and spending his life documenting Holocaust crimes and hunting down perpetrators who remained at large. Jews are particularly offended by an attempt to alter the religion of Holocaust victims, who were murdered because of their religion, and the baptism of Holocaust survivors was supposed to have been barred by a 1995 agreement.
Yet records indicate Wiesenthal's parents, Asher and Rosa Rapp Wiesenthal, were baptized in proxy ceremonies performed by Mormon church members at temples in Arizona and Utah in late January.
In a statement, the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced the baptismal rites.
"We are outraged that such insensitive actions continue in the Mormon temples," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean at the center.
The church immediately apologized, saying it was the actions of an individual member of church — whom they did not name — that led to the submission of Wiesenthal's name.
"We sincerely regret that the actions of an individual member of the church led to the inappropriate submission of these names," Michael Purdy, a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in a statement issued Monday. "We consider this a serious breach of our protocol and we have suspended indefinitely this person's ability to access our genealogy records."
Mormons believe posthumous baptism by proxy allows deceased persons to receive the Gospel in the afterlife. The church believes departed souls can then accept or reject the baptismal rites and contends the offerings are not intended to offend anyone.
Other religions, including the Catholic church, have also publicly objected to the baptism of its members, and it's been widely reported that Mormon and GOP presidential nominee front-runner Mitt Romney's atheist father-in-law Edward Davies was posthumously baptized.
A check of the records by Salt Lake City researcher Helen Radkey showed the baptism occurred in November 1993. The record suggests a family member may have submitted Davies' name, which would be in line with the rules for entering names in the database.
Changes made to the church database in 2010 were intended to better prevent names of Holocaust victims from being submitted for rites.
Radkey found documentation of the baptism of the Wiesenthals last week while conducting regular checks of a church database. Jews have relied on the work of Radkey, a former Mormon, since 1999, although Mormon church officials have publicly questioned her motives for reviewing the database.
On Tuesday she told The Associated Press she periodically checks the database for the Wiesenthal name to gauge whether the latest Mormon efforts to screen the process were working.
Radkey's recent monitoring also turned up a record for Holocaust survivor and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel and several of his relatives.
"None of the three names were submitted for baptism and they would not have been under the church's guidelines and procedures," Purdy said. "The names were simply entered into a genealogical database. Submission for proxy baptism is a separate process."
New Jersey-based Jewish genealogy experts Gary Mokotoff said publicity about the Wiesenthal baptism will help solve the problem, which he believes is likely limited to a small number of overzealous church members who believe they are providing a service to their church.
"If the word gets out that there are consequences, they'll stop," said Mokotoff, who has also participated in talks with Mormon leaders. "But no one has a right to involve other person's families in their religion. That's basically what's wrong about the whole concept."
The Catholic Church does not recognize Moromon Baptism
This can only be directed at Romney supporters because Jacobins do not recognize God.
Four Irish soldiers, one Major Gaydon, Captains Misset, O'Toole, and Wogan leave Strasbourg on horseback and head east. This is not exceptionally unusual as there are many Irish found in foreign armies on the continent. But these men have a special mission. The rescue of a princess. This certain princess is imprisoned in a castle in Innsbruck in southern Austria. Accompanying the soldiers are two women, the wife of Capt Misset to act as a companion to the princess and a servant named Jenny. Jenny has an important part to play in this rescue, because if it were to succeed she would be the principle ruse. Recently Capt Wogan has visited Innusbruck as an itinerant peddler and visited the princess who has agreed to the plan for the escape.
After a journey of 10 days they finally arrive in Innsbruck. The weather is bad, a pouring rain and driving wind. Fortunately this was the best weather for the plot to succeed.
Arriving at the castle they are met by the princess' servant named Chateaudeau, who taking Jenny with him, returns to the apartments of the princess where the princess and her mother await. The plan calls for Jenny and the princess to exchange places and clothes. Jenny will remain behind in the castle and feign illness until the party escapes south into Italy. Jenny however is noticeably taller than the princess and so has to remain abed if the disguise is to work. The princess on her part must wear slippers instead of shoes with heels; unfortunate in this weather. The princess, in Jenny,s cloak, slips out of the castle with the servant Chateaudeau and her jewels. Upon reaching the gate Chateaudeau says "Goodnight" loud enough for Capt Wogan, standing nearby, to hear. Then the princess, disguised as the servant Jenny, steps out past the guard and leaves the castle. The plan has worked perfectly... Thus far
Capt Wogan leads the princess to an inn where the others await them and they set off towards the Italian border. Going just a short way the discover that in the rush to go the princess has left her jewels in the inn! Captain O'Toole turns his horse about and speeds back to the inn that they had just left. It is the middle of the night. Capt O,Toole dare not pound on the door, but being a big man lifts the door of the hinges, grabs the jewels and leaves. Riding hard he catches up with the party on the road.
Poor Jenny keeps up the pretence of being the Princess as long as she can by remaining in bed pretending to be sick but finally the truth is discovered. The Castle governor send word to the next town to stop the party. As luck would have it Captains Missett and O'Toole trailed behind as the escape party's rearguard. Falling in with the messenger they treat him to refreshment at an inn where the poor fellow found it impossible to continue on horseback.
The escapees were having a hard time as well. The food was deplorable and for some reason almost uneatable. The were forced to make tea in a can that had previously held oil. The post horses they received were almost useless, ...and their coach broke down. Anything that could go awry did, except that after four grueling days they reached the border, and were safely in Italy.
And who is this Princess? She was Maria Klementyna Zophia Sobieska(1) daughter of Prince James Louis Henry Sobieski, and granddaughter of King Jan III, Sobieski (2)she had ben imprisioned in Insbruck by the Holy Roman Emperor by request of King George I, to prevent her marriage to the son of King James II of England (and VII of Scotland). Prince James Edward had, since 1701 been recognized as the true King of England. He would have been James III. He is remembered by his most common sobriquet, "Old Pretender".
After the marriage of Princess Klementyna and Prince James, they had a son. Naming him Charles Edward Louis Philip Casimir. He is destined to lead the "45" Jacobite rising as "Bonnie Prince Charlie".

"Monsignors' mutiny" revealed by Vatican leaks
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Call it Conspiracy City. Call it Scandal City. Call it Leak City. These days the holy city has been in the news for anything but holy reasons.
"It is a total mess," said one high-ranking Vatican official who spoke, like all others, on the condition of anonymity.
The Machiavellian maneuvering and machinations that have come to light in the Vatican recently are worthy of a novel about a sinister power struggle at a medieval court. More. Thanks to Reuters the Church is never really out of the news.

Birth Control Debate: Why Catholic Bishops Have Lost Their Grip on U.S. Politics -- and Their Flock
...Not on abortion or the death penalty (a majority of Catholics believe those should remain legal); on divorce or homosexuality (most say those are acceptable); on women being ordained as priests and priests getting married (ditto); or on masturbation and pre-marital sex (ditto again, Your Excellencies). (MORE: Conflict Over Obama's Contraception Rule Intensifies)
And especially not on contraception. Ever since Pope Paul VI reaffirmed the Church's senseless ban on birth control in 1968, few doctrines have been as vilified, ridiculed and outright ignored by Catholics – evidenced by a recent study showing that 98% of American Catholic women have used some form of contraception. It's hard to believe, as the bishops would have it, that those women simply succumbed to society's pressure to do the secular thing. They've decided, in keeping with their faith's precept of exercising personal conscience, that family planning is the moral and societally responsible thing to do -- for example, preventing unwanted pregnancies and therefore abortions. And it explains why a recent Public Religion Research Institute poll found most Catholics support the contraception coverage mandate even for Catholic-affiliated organizations. Presumably most endorse Friday's compromise... More...
All these lapsed Catholics and errant priests and Bishops have all been predicted.
We Catholics are known by our enemies. They are legion.
His portrait, is extracted from the album of Marchioness de La Rochejaquelein.
I do not know that given the extraordinary events which were about to unfold if he did get his pension.
Samuel L. Jackson only voted for President Barack Obama because of the color of his skin, the Hollywood actor revealed in a profanity-laced interview in the March issue of Ebony magazine.
“I voted for Barack because he was black. ’Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them,” Jackson said. “That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean sh-t to me. In the end, he’s a politician. I just hoped he would do some of what he said he was gonna do.
According to the New York Post, the “Pulp Fiction” legend repeatedly dropped the N-word during his cover story interview. more.
Jackson went on, ...(defending) his repeated use of the racial epithet, Jackson said it “became a part of my vocabulary when I was born.”
“Because it was used on me in my house, often . . . I know the word [bleep] as an admonishment, an endearment, a criticism and an invective. So I use it; I don’t run from it. I don’t have an issue with it or who says it. I always put it in the context of how it was used on me,” he said. Unfortunately until he stops using the N-word he can not expect anyone to stop using the N-word.
So we discover that being qualified for a job doesn't matter, it is simply the color of the skin. In this month Samuel L. Jackson has repudiated Dr Martin Luther King and his I have a dream speech. Pity.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on what happened last night at the Grammys:
Nicki Minaj, fresh off looking like a fool with Madonna at the Super Bowl, showed up last night on the red carpet at the Grammys with a guy dressed like the pope. This was just a prelude of what was to come.
Minaj’s performance began on stage with a mock confessional skit. This was followed by a taped video depicting a mock exorcism. With stained glass in the background, she appeared on stage again with choir boys and monks dancing.
Perhaps the most vulgar part was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer. Finally, “Come All Ye Faithful” was sung while a man posing as a bishop walked on stage; Minaj was shown levitating.
None of this was by accident, and all of it was approved by The Recording Academy, which puts on the Grammys. Whether Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy. Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam.
It’s bad enough that Catholics have to fight for their rights vis-à-vis a hostile administration in Washington without also having to fend off attacks in the entertainment industry. The net effect, however, will only embolden Catholics, as well as their friends in other faith communities.
If youwant a picture of Nikki go elsewhere.

Shock Claim: Whistle-Blower Says Planned Parenthood Clinics Defrauded Gov’t to Pay for Abortion-Related Services
Posted on February 13, 2012 at 12:12pm by Billy Hallowell Print »Email »
Planned Parenthood continues to find itself in the midst of controversy. Karen Reynolds, a former employee at one of the organization’s Lufkin, Texas, clinics, has blown the whistle on an alleged multi-million-dollar billing scheme.
Reynolds, who worked as a health center assistant for the clinic from 1999 until 2009, claims that she was instructed to help the organization bring in optimal revenue by falsifying records. In the end, this purportedly enabled the organization to extract monies from Medicaid and the Women’s Health Program for services that were never granted.
According to Reynolds, this was the procedure that staff followed in all 12 Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast clinics in both Texas and Louisiana. The Lufkin News reports:
The suit alleges that, in addition to falsifying patient records, billing the government for unwarranted services and services not covered by Medicaid, Planned Parenthood tacked on services patient did not receive.
An example given in the suit is Medicaid being billed for birth control counseling. The suit states almost all Women’s Health Program and Medicaid patients were handed a bag of at least two birth control devices despite the fact the items were not needed or requested by the patient.
After giving these bags out, the lawsuit alleges that the condoms and vaginal film present within the packages were billed to the government for a cost of $57.85. This action was apparently purposeful, as Reynolds claims that employees were taken through “PowerPoint” sessions on how they could most efficiently defraud taxpayers.
The scheme included the express policy of billing these government health care programs for a predetermined list of reimbursable services for every eligible patient who visited the clinic, regardless of whether those services were medically necessary or ever actually provided to the patient….
PPGC policy regarding which medical services to provide and bill for depended in large part on who was paying the bill…. [S]elf-pay patients were provided services based on medical necessity. WHP, Medicaid, and Title XX patients, however, were provided a series of predetermined services based on what those programs would pay for with the result that patients covered by government health programs were often provided services on an “across the board” basis even when such services were not medically necessary.
Another, more startling portion alleges that the organization billed the government for abortion services:
One notable example of this practice relates to PPGC policies for obtaining payment for abortion-related services. WHP, Medicaid, and some other government programs do not allow payment for abortion-related services including “follow-up visits” after an elective abortion procedure. The following is a direct quote from a staff meeting memorandum given to clinic employees
January 22, 2009:
POST AB VISITS: We must work these clients in! This visit is self-pay. Quote the self-pay price then ask if she needs any other services such as birth control. If she is interested, screen for WHP or Title XX and offer the WWE [Well Woman Exam]. If the client is getting on birth control make this the focus of the visit and put a note in the chief complaints that the client had a surgical or medical abortion “x” weeks ago
At the moment, the startling case is still in its early stages, as the trial isn’t set to unfold until April 2013. If Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast loses the case, it will need to pay the federal government and the state of Texas a lump sum for the alleged actions.
You can read more about this case here.
