Real Catholic Rights or What would Luther Do?

I will be truthfully happy when, after Sunday, for better of for worse, this tragedy at Notre Dame will be over. Over as far as whether or not B.O. will be given his honorarium.

Father Jenkins will most likely have his way in disobediance to Church teaching, and will award Obama with his figurative crown of martyrdom. What Would Luther Do?

I have thought long and hard about this, and I have come up with an anology. As a former Marine, I have attended many awards ceremonies, most of the men (and later women)being awarded rightfully deserved their medals. I have been decorated myself. Once in a while someone was decorated who did not deserve to be. When those times happened, the other men decorated have had their decoration cheapened.

Obama's doctorate reads...

The University of Notre Dame Confers the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, on the 44th president of the United States, whose historic election opened a new era of hope in a country long divided by its history of slavery and racism. A community organizer who honed his advocacy for the poor, the marginalized and the worker in the streets of Chicago, he now organizes a larger community, bringing to the world stage a renewed American dedication to diplomacy and dialogue with all nations and religions committed to human rights and the global common good. Through his willingness to engage with those who disagree with him and encourage people of faith to bring their beliefs to the public debate, he is inspiring this nation to heal its divisions of religion, culture, race and politics in the audacious hope for a brighter tomorrow. On Barack H. Obama, Washington, District of Columbia"

I am at odds with the very last sentence, specifically...

...he is inspiring this nation to heal its divisions of religion, culture, race and politics in the audacious hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Is he really?, or does he just have those intentions? Is it just for show? By his very presence at Notre Dame he is doing the very opposite. In fact he is dividing Catholics, the Pro-Abort's and the Pro-Life (actually the Pro-Aborts are not Catholic). Did he not tell the Europeans that we are not a Christian country. We are living in the era of the Obama show, where his rockstar antics and constant campaigning are doing nothing to help the Culture. Race, I can see, he is the first black American president(as we are constantly being reminded), just as Washington was the first white president. The culture difference between Washington and Obama is Washington just wanted to be an American. Lastly, Politics. Liberals are not uniters they are dividers. They live but dividing, the so called HAVES, and have nots, the people who own Homes and the people living in a trailer, The people who own SUVs and the people who drive economical green cars.

No, Mr. Obama you don't deserve an award from any Catholic university. It cheapen those awards that have gone before you.

Joseph has posted this today.

Fr. James Schall, S.J. On Obama, Notre Dame And Real Catholic Rights

So when President Obama goes to Notre Dame this week, we should be sure what is at issue. He goes there for one reason, namely, in this symbolic place, to convince the vast majority of Catholics that his operative definition of “human rights,” not that of the Church, is the correct one.

“Rights” mean precisely what the government defines them to mean. The president is the government.

“Liberty,” in this context, means this: The freedom to obey these laws that embody these “rights” that governments alone establish, whatever they are.

The American Founders would be astonished that our great nation has come to this pass.
