Socialism, Step One

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" Karl Marx

If president achieves his goal of telling companies the government is "bailing out" how high the pay of the top officials can be, it will not be long before the government will tell everyone what they can get paid. I have told people that and I am abused. "That won't happen, the American people won't allow that". If that were true we wouldn't have abortion. When I was small the "pill" was presented which ended or stopped pregnancy. That was the foot in the door. Now, true to the prophecy of Pope Paul VI, we not only have the pill but abortion, as well.

So we will watch and wait. The "Messiah' has his plans, and they won't be detered by the American people.

One more troubling aspect of capping is this, any government which can cap pay, can cap cost. If we get a nationalized health care program, the government will have the ability to say how much they will pay for you medical care.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama on Wednesday imposed $500,000 caps on senior executive pay for the most distressed financial institutions receiving federal bailout money, saying Americans are upset with "executives being rewarded for failure."

Obama announced the dramatic new government intervention into corporate America at the White House, with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner at his side. The president said the executive-pay limits are a first step, to be followed by the unveiling next week of a sweeping new framework for spending what remains of the $700 billion financial industry bailout that Congress created last year.

This is hubris in it's most sublime sense.
